Welcome to TV Garth!

Ever since I was a kid, I loved antennas and TV reception. It was always a thrill to hook up an antenna and see what stations I could get, and see if I could pick up anything from a far distance. With the transition to digital broadcasting happening, my love for OTA (over the air) reception came back and this blog will focus on what channels I'm able to receive via antenna from my home just outside of Toronto, Canada. Plus there may be occasional commentaries on shows that I see while adjusting my reception.

Reception Reports: Jan. 18. 2010 Cleveland Rocks As Mega Tropo Weekend Comes To A Close!

This a set capturing the last day of the HUGE long distance TV tropo event in Mid-January! This was my adventure receiving TV stations from Cleveland, OH / Akron, OH / Rochester, NY and Erie, PA on Jan. 18, 2010 from my home in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Dayton, OH faded out just before 5am, but Cleveland, OH held strong and I was able to watch (and capture) a lot of the local news from WEWS and WKYC! I also saw some of the programming from Univision affiliate WQHS, along with Akron's ION station and Rochester, NY's WXXI. I left my digital box on RF12 before going to bed, and noticed that Erie, PA's WICU came in sometime after I'd gone to sleep. Distances provided are approximate.
