Welcome to TV Garth!

Ever since I was a kid, I loved antennas and TV reception. It was always a thrill to hook up an antenna and see what stations I could get, and see if I could pick up anything from a far distance. With the transition to digital broadcasting happening, my love for OTA (over the air) reception came back and this blog will focus on what channels I'm able to receive via antenna from my home just outside of Toronto, Canada. Plus there may be occasional commentaries on shows that I see while adjusting my reception.

Reception Reports: Sept. 10-12, 2009 with Cleveland, Columbus, Utica & Rochester!

This was my adventure receiving TV stations from Rochester, NY / Cleveland, OH / Columbus, OH and Utica, NY from my home in Markham, Ontario, Canada on Sept. 10-12, 2009. The most shocking thing was picking up WBNS from Columbus, Ohio which is 334 miles away from me. I was also excited to pick up Cleveland's WKYC and WQHS for the first time. I got lots of pics and saw many stations covering college football. (Check out the roundtable coverage on Cleveland's WEWS with a McDonald's bag not-so-subtlely placed in the middle of their table!) Lots of doppler radar too, with pics from WKYC's WXPLUS subchannel and WBNS's AccuWeather based subchannel!
