Greetings TV Garth readers! I’ve been avidly following the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and was excited to see that one contestant – Pandora Boxx – hails from Rochester, NY! (One of TV Garth’s favourite cities!)
Pandora is already a fabulous Diva in her own right. (She’s friendly and fabulous, on top of winning kudos from the awesome Alec Mapa with her Carol Channing impersonation!) But the icing on the cake (or the sequins on an already wonderful gown) is that by day she works for WUHF and WROC! WUHF recently profiled Pandora (who is known as Michael Steck out of drag) during their Fox First At Ten newscast. Click here to watch the segment!
The story shows Michael at work editing promos for WUHF! (All screen caps from this story are from the online streaming video, as my Rochester TV reception has disappeared for most of this Winter!)
However, I do have one pic from my actual reception of WUHF from July 2009. The promo below was most likely edited by Michael! (Compare it to the one he’s working on in the pic above!)
Stay tuned to TV Garth for more television treats!
Talk about six-degrees of separation. KUHF's owners own my 'local' NBC station (KARK) and also operate KTVE (another NBC station I receive OTA).
ReplyDeleteDo you get Logo on cable up there or do you have to resort to watching 'Drag Race' online? I've watched most of the episodes online since until last week I didn't have Logo on my Sat TV subscription. I'm not a huge fan of 'Reality TV' but 'Drag Race' is a fierce guilty pleasure ;)
FYI, the WTFDA convention this year is in....you guessed it, Rochester NY.
Hey there! We don't get Logo here, but I'm watching via VH1 on my family's "BUD". (We still use it to subscribe to a few American channels.) Last year it was carried in Canada on our Much More Music cable channel, but oddly they don't appear to be airing it this year.
ReplyDeleteBut you're right, Drag Race is such a fierce guilty pleasure! Love the competition, and I feel like Pandora's my "local" fave (even though Rochester isn't my hometown, but I adopt it as such since I see their channels so much in the warmer weather!) :-)
Would love to go to the WTFDA convention, especially since it's in Rochester! This Summer is packed with stuff for me, but I hope to make it work!
