Happy Canada Day to all my TV Garth readers! Here are some pictoral reminders of just how resiliant we Canadian folk are!
We survived a minor Earthquake as seen below via CFTO (RF40) with meteorologist Tom Brown.
We survived a disastrous G20 Summit that severely strained relations between the police and the general public. Seen via CBLT (RF20) with Muhammad Lila.
Yet none of this stopped Toronto from becoming fabulous and celebrating Gay Pride. (In fact, even Toronto Pride was engulfed in controversy this year, but was able to overcome those bumps in the road!) People came together to celebrate their differences, their diversity, and the event reminded us all to be proud of our lives!
A Canada Day recap would not be complete without a beautiful shot of Toronto, seen on CFTO (RF40)!
For a Canada Day bonus, here's some recent CanCon In The US:
Rochester, NY's WROC (RF45) was doing live reports from Tim Horton's for their annual Camp Day on June 2, 2010! Bob Metcalfe was talking to owner Meagan Lewandowski in the pic below!
Erie, PA's WSEE (RF12-3) showed a story about some "Moose on the loose" in Ottawa on June 2, 2010!
Rochester, NY's WXXI (RF16) was showing The Canadian Tenors - Live In Toronto on June 6, 2010 and had the group in the WXXI studios as part of their pledge drive!
During the show, Sarah McLachlan came out as a surprise guest to sing that obscure, rarely heard ballad Hallelujah.
That about wraps up my Canada Day post, but stay tuned to TV Garth for more TV related treats!
